Literature Text

i can accept that one day we shall meet again,
perhaps a few weeks, perhaps a few years,
and i hope that you still wear that smile i gave you.
you deserve to be happy, i mean it sincerely.

for you taught my heart to beat with purpose.

just kids, falling into emotions we didn't understand.
i don't hate you for what you did. you were young.
i know you are sorry, but the time let me breathe.
it let me grow into the person i am now.

for you taught my heart to beat with purpose.

when we pass in the street, you'll stare and i'll smile.
those harsh words we said have dissolved into neutral.
acknowledging the bride that clings to your arm,
i wish you the best, for the pain made me strong.

for you taught my heart to beat with purpose.
quick poem, written just now.
